| ETEC Get Crafty |

| Entry To Employment (E2E) learners at ETEC got crafty by taking part in a long-term arts project funded by the Leap Project. Lee Hardy, Kyle Grant, Carl Butler, James Lonsdale and Chris Ridley took part in the project led by Sunderland E2E Artist in Residence Malcolm Dobbins. Over four months, trainees produced two pieces of art. The first was a collage of the Wearmouth Bridge, in Sunderland, carved from plywood. A second was a piece of abstract sculpture, now on display in the reception at ETEC House. It was created to resemble ships’ funnels passing in mid-river and is decorated with ceramic tiles bearing the word Welcome in several languages. All trainees gained the Asdan expressive arts award as a result of 60 hours’ participation in the project.
